The Ocean ABC Paddling course…”No kit, no clue”…
This is for people who are totally fresh to the sport and want to get into it. It is also for those who have maybe done it once or twice, but haven’t quite cracked it.
At this stage you are dubbed as “No kit, no clue.” This will be your first intro to the wonderful sport of offshore paddling. You don’t need ANY equipment; we provide the surf skis and the paddles, all you have to bring is your swimming gear. You also get some notes and an Action Pack to get you on your way.
The Ocean ABC Paddling course takes you from: “This is a surf-ski…” to “This is how you catch a wave…” to “This is how to shoot a flare…” After completing the course you will have heard everything there is to hear about offshore paddling as well as given it a solid crack. However, the fun has only started... |

Enter the Ocean Paddler…Got the kit…what now?
The Ocean Paddler classes are specifically there for you to get the hang of things under our watchful eye. After completing the Ocean ABC of Paddling course you will now move onto practicing what we’ve preached. You’ve heard the story-rory, now go walk-the-talk baby; it’s time to tame the beast. You will now do your first set of 4 “Ocean Paddler” classes.
Here we reinforce what was taught in the Ocean ABC of Paddling course and you practice until you get it. You sign up per set of four classes which don’t need to be consecutive; you can come when it suits you. There is one proviso though; you have to do your 4 classes within six weeks of signing up as an Ocean Paddler.
Once you got the hang of things, you move along…again. |

| The Ocean Expert |

Where’s the action…hold me back!! The Ocean Expert Anecdote…
You have now reached a certain level of paddling but it’s time to improve. To be hailed Ocean Expert is going to take some work. Basically you can sit in a ski and paddle, but that’s about it. Here the focus is specifically at improving skills, technique and fitness so that, in the end, offshore paddling will be like second nature to you.
Here you will be put through your paces in an effort to get your body to Ocean Expert status. This level is embarked upon in sets of four classes. It’s a good work out and incorporates practicing all the skills you’ll need to be on top of your game. You’ll learn about training as well as hone your skills; and once you’ve got it waxed, then you will arrive as an Ocean Expert. Well done. |

The Ocean Pro - Beating your best..
Personal, specific and goal orientated.
The Ocean Pro program is there for you to make that breakthrough. Here you will take that first step to beating your best, and beating it well. You might even take out some arch rivals in the process.
You come for an Assessment session where we will do a specific assessment of your fitness, skills and ability. We will discuss your goals (and create some if you don’t have any) and then, based on your assessment, plan the program which will get you there. We then schedule follow-up sessions and your journey begins. |

Witness the Fitness!
The Ocean Advanced group is the next step up from the Ocean Expert group. Along with perfecting your paddling skills we also focus on doing some longer paddling sessions and also getting "out there" a bit more. We are also keenly aware of educating the Ocean Advanced group into good and Expect to be: surfing waves, going on downwind paddles, checking out race courses and most of all train hard.
Own equipment is necessary: Surfski, Paddle, Leash, PFD, Cell phone dry bag, Hydration |
